Baby or juvenile beavers do not leave their lodge unless displaced or orphaned. Reuniting is not possible due to unknown den locations. Any age requires immediate professional care if injured, orphaned, or sick.
DO NOT feed
DO NOT place young beavers in water
Feeding or chilling can cause fatal aspiration pneumonia
Handling:
Use thick gloves and a towel
Place in a ventilated box
Keep the animal warm, dark, and quiet
Adults may require two people to lift safely
Humane Coexistence:
Beavers are adapting to habitats humans have altered. It is illegal to relocate wildlife. Humane eviction is possible without killing.
